Concerning Macomb's service constructing military roads in New Mexico and his expedition of 1859 to survey the Spanish Trail as far as the junction of the Grand and Green Rivers in Utah. Also included: letters from Lieutenant Joseph C. Ives and John S. Newberry, and Newberry's diary, July 15-September 28, 1859.
